This Friday the biggest release for Bollywood was the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda starrer Sarabjit. Based on real life incidents involving an Indian man trapped in Pakistan prison, the film received a lukewarm response on its opening day. On Friday, the film earned only a meagre Rs 3.69 crore. But, fortunately, things are looking up for Omung Kumar and co.
On Saturday, Sarabjit saw an increase in business as it earned Rs 4.56 crore on the first day of the weekend. This is definitely good news for the Ash starrer which had a worrying start but now it has expanded its business on day two by nearly 23 percent. So, overall Sarabjit has managed to earn Rs 8.25 crore till now and it is bound to increase even more on Sunday, which will be a great opportunity to make a buck for the Sarabjit team.
The movie is a heart rending biopic on an Indian man Sarabjit who accidentally stumbled into Pakistan and was alleged as a spy and thrown into a notorious prison. It also showcases the efforts of his sister Dalbir Kaur who fought tooth and nail with the government to clear her brother’s name of terrorism. It is of course a known fact that this rescue couldn’t take place successfully and the poor man was beaten and killed by his prison inmates. Showcasing these facts makes the film a very emotional ride of course but it did manage to earn the accolades of the critics.
